The New Age movement is a western spiritual movement that developed in the latter half of the 20th century. Its central precepts draw on both the eastern and western spiritual and metaphysical traditions infused in essence with influences from motivational psychology, parapsychology, holistic health and alternative healing, conscioucness research and quantum physics.
The intentions of new age community is to create a spirituality without borders or confining dogmas that is inclusive and pluralistic. These networks and communities are a place for like minded people with similar goals, and for anyone who is on a spiritual path to meet with soul family and share inspirational messages and receive guidance on their journey. New age communities often have a mission to raise awareness of our spiritual nature and the issues facing the world today and discuss the role of humanity at this important time on the planet.
The new age takes on a holistic worldview which emphasizes that the mind, body and spirit are interrelated and that everything, including you and I, are connected. This worldveiw includes both science and spirituality. The term 'New Age' refers to the coming astrological Age of Aquarius, the shift in consciousness, a dawn of a new era, and the individual and planetary ascension process.
